Carringbush has a vibrant and professional volunteering program with volunteers currently active in the following roles:

Volunteers support learning outcomes for students in a variety of English as an Additional Language classes.
Employment Mentors
Volunteers support English as an Additional Language students to define careers pathways, develop resumes, apply for jobs and secure work experience placements. Mentors work with students in one-on-one and small group settings.
Adult Literacy Tutors
The Carringbush Adult Literacy program supports adults in Yarra with low levels of English literacy to develop their skills through intensive tutoring with skilled volunteers. Tutors work one-to-one and with small groups to address the immediate learning needs of adults in their daily lives.
Family Literacy Tutors
Volunteer tutors support our adult learners’ pre-school aged children’s literacy and language development through creative play, craft, songs, books, and story-telling.
Referral and Support Service Volunteers
Through the Community Information Centre (CIC), volunteers provide individualised support to adults with barriers to accessing services, education, and employment. Volunteers assess people's needs to make referrals and take a strengths-based approach to support individuals in completing tasks such as but not limited to: filling forms, citizenship applications and tests, drivers licence preparation, job search, job interview preparation, resume and cover letter writing.
Administration volunteers
Volunteers support office staff with administrative duties, assisting Carringbush to deliver high quality programs to people experiencing disadvantage.
